There are Cockerel perched on 3 rings,5 rings and 6 rings.
A few pieces of this tin cockerel on rings were still in circulation as late as the 1850's when each ring was worth 10 pieces of the Singapore Merchants one keping tokens.

From the few records available,it is known that the fighting cock itself was worth five cents of the Spanish Dollar while each attached ring below added a further one cent to it's value.For small purchases the medal rings were broken off and used as one cent pieces.
Today,these Kedah.Broken Off Tin Rings were already more then 238 years old and there are still in almost mint conditions.

ReplyDeleteI got them from a collector who just came back from US,these were the good in condition tin coins that he collected before he went to US to further study,during his stayed in US,he continued to collect tin coins,tin ingot-tampang,bodor from the collectors in US,England and Europe.
He also specialised in JIM notes.
