Kelantan Rubber Estate Limited (KREL) Private Brass Token

The Kelantan Rubber Estate Limited was originally owned by Boustead Estate Agencies Limited. This estate was located in Kuala Phai near Kuala Krai.

In the 1920's there was a shortage of small change. To overcome the problem, the Kelantan Rubber Estate Limited (KREL) issued private tokens that could be exchanged at the Estate's shop for goods.
The Kelantan Rubber Estate Limited (KREL) was sold to Malakoff  Berhad, Kuala Krai in 1976. This estate still exists but it's name has been changed to Lepan Kabu Palm Oil Mill.The main produce of this estate now is palm oil.

The  denominations of the Kelantan Rubber Estate Limited (KREL) issued brass private tokens were 10 Cents (20mm), 50 Cents (25mm), One Dollar (31mm) and another One Dollar (32mm) was issued by using hard red fibre material.

When I referred to Master Tan Tai Seng, he told me so far he had only seen a piece of 50 Cents and a piece of a dollar Kelantan Rubber Estate Limited (KREL) issued brass private tokens. He said these are the rare tokens.
