STRIKE THROUGH ERRORS

Malaysia Strike Through Error Coin.

Rarity:RR(UNC)

Struck-through errors:

Struck-through errors occur when foreign objects fall between die and planchet during striking.

Pieces of cloth, metal fragments, wire, slivers of reeding, grease, oil, dirt, wire bristles (from wire brushes used to clean dies, resembling staples), die covers and other objects may fall between the dies and the coin.

In this case,it was a string.

  1. Hi Mr Dickson,
Thank you for noting this kind of error, strike through with string. If not, sure I would assume that this is a damage to the coin. Good to know that it commands quite a high price. Hehe.

  2. Hi Dickson,
Wow, nice to have a struck through on a commemorative coin.
By the way, we really have not seen a struck through with the object still embedded in it.
Really great to own one of these.
    Thanks a lot, Dickson :)

Just the coin in BU condition was already priced at RM40 in Dealers. And is not easy to find errors on commemorative coin.
mnfaj, always carry your "sepuluh mata"(10X) with you,if you only rely on our "dua mata",we will miss many things.haha!
