WHAT ARE THESE COINS?
Sincerely Appeal For Your Contribution On What Are These Coins?Tokens?Fantasy Money?
I inherited these items from my brother,a retiree of Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (Malaysia Navy). He told me these items were given to him by a Pak Haji,a close friend of him when he is still serving the Malaysia Navy, based in Woodland,Singapore in the 60's.
Except for the first item (Duit Yassin?),the rest were made of steel and attracted to magnets.Likely, these steel planchet items are much older then the copper "Duit Yassin".All these items were produced by die struck and not die casted.
I really hope someone can tell me what are these items? For what purpose ?From where there are originated?

Hi Dickson,
ReplyDeleteI sneaking around here, hehe...
Wow, it is like fantasy coin.
May be it is for some purposes such as for lucky charm, protection, identity and etc.
I have some coins like this in my collection.
Hi Dickson,
ReplyDeleteCould they be made for the same purpose as the Surabaya bullet money that you have mentioned earlier?
Many of these coins came from Indonesia Dickson. Its more on magic/bomoh rather then for collection. Their price most of the time are very high.
ReplyDeleteDear whycollect,
ReplyDeleteI am yet to find out the actual purpose of these 'Coins'!
Dear MGM Sabri,

I use to collect these coin way back in 1970's when newly started in this hobby.Use to buy them from the Gurkas at Petaling Street.I threw them after knowing that these coin were used as charm from the late Datok Kassim.
