Straight clips are faked by filing away the metal from the edge of the coin.
How to detect a genuine clip errors and a counterfeits?
Here are some tips to refer.
Always pay attention to the rim right opposite/across the affected area.The rim opposite the clip will always exhibits an imperfect or deformed rim,this is due to the affected area could not respond the force of the upsetting or upended process to raise the rim.This phenomenon was best explained by Mr.Blakesley, hence,is also called Blakesley Effects (Pic.1)
