Malaysia Split Planchet-Hinged Error Coins

A normally struck coin that was ready to split but still Hinged together on a portion of the coin.
These resemble open clamshells and are often affectionately referred to as "Clamshell Split" or simply "Clamshells".
The Planchet splitted after struck was due to impurity or improper alloy mix or air bubbles and/or foreign materials trapped in the metal of the Planchet.
