PATANI-KELANTAN KIJANG GOLD KUPANG WITH "DOTS"
Patani-Kelantan Kijang Gold Kupang With 8 "Dots" On Obverse.
Rarity:RRR/SS54
I am a lover of Patani-Kelantan Kijang Gold Kupang varieties.
Lately, I bought a piece of Patani-Kelantan Kijang Gold Kupang from my buddy Malay States Sultanate Coins' collector from the North.
The gold kupang is slightly heavier than a normal weigh (0.60gm) kupang. Its weight is 0.679gm with a normal diameter measured at 10.00mm.
The humped Kijang/Bull facing left with tail raised ending in a circle. The salivary flow in the mouth is like a ball and chain. What really amazed me is there are designed of 8 dots appeared on its obverse.
One dot is in the deer's mouth, one dot attached on its saliva (ectoplasm), one dot displayed under the chest, one more dot is on its neck, there are three dots surrounded the hump and an other dot is exhibited within the circle.
On the reverse is the inscription in Arabic " Malik Al Adil" (The Just Ruler) similar to the design of Kijang Gold Kupang listed as SS54 in Mr.Saran Singh's book " The Encyclopaedia of THE COINS OF MALAYSIA-SINGAPORE AND BRUNEI 1400-1967."
