Malaysia Bunga Raya Series 2005 50 Cents With Die Variety.


A die variety is a coin with variation in normal design with a normal coin intended for circulation., usually caused by errors in the preparation or maintenance of the coin dies. Die varieties are also an exciting and fascinating area of coin collecting.

I am going to post a series  of  Malaysia coins with Die Varieties.


These are the  Malaysia second series or more often we called it Bunga Raya (Hibiscus Flower) series dated year 2005, 50 Cents coins with variation shown on the petals of the hibiscus flower on the reverse side of the coins.

The petals of hibiscus on the coin at the right hand side is very much clearer and apparent then the one on the left side.


There were more then 691 millions pieces of 50 Cents coins minted  in year 2005, I am very sure the Mint must been using dozens of dies, no surprise to receive dies from different die craft master, resulted the die varieties.
