My Birthday celebration started yesternight when Miss Teresa Bong surprised me with a Cheese Birthday cake in her visit to Dickson Niew Collection Corner.

This morning, after sending my beloved wife to KLIA, I was accompanied by a regular group of "Warga Emas" in my morning exercise.Later,joined me  in my jogging was  Cik Aisyah who is going to celebrate her birthday on the 23rd of September.She accompanied me for a cup of "teh tarik halia" after the jog.

My Birthday became more meaningful when I invited Master Tan Tai Seng to have breakfast with me.Mean while I was receiving numerous of Birthday wishes from sms, fb massages,WeChats,whatsApp etc.

Sifus visit My Shop "Dickson Niew Collection Corner".


Last Friday, my shop the " Dickson Niew Collection Corner " at Subang Jaya was visited by the master of JIM notes, Mr Wong Hon Sum, he is the sole author of the book "THE JAPANESE OCCUPATION OF MALAYA (SINGAPORE) AND ITS CURRENCY".


He came to deliver to me items that bidded by Malaysian numismatists during his recent Numismatic Society (Asia)'s auction in Singapore.(20-04-2013).



By coincidence, Mr.T C Ng, a serious local banknotes numismatist also visited me to collect his bidded items.He is also a good friend of Mr.Wong Hon Sum. Both of them were having a couple hours of good chat in my shop.


An other lucky numismatist is Mr.R. Pannirselvam,a young but serious coin collector, he came from Perak.He arrived at 12.30pm at my shop and was surprised and exciting to meet Mr. Wong. He was quick enough to picked a copy of Mr.Wong Hon Sum's "THE JAPANESE OCCUPATION OF MALAYA (SINGAPORE) AND ITS CURRENCY" (hard cover) from my sale counter and got Mr.Wong's autograph on the spot.

Today, I received a visit from the the President and founder of Kelab Warisan Numismatik Jengkal Kuantan Pahang, Dato' Haji Sharudin Bin Hj. Yusof, DIMP.,AMP.. He brought along his best collection of Malaysia banknote, the Malaysia 11th series 2000 RM1 Signed  by Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Zeti Aziz Akhtar Aziz. Prefix: ZC replacement note in 60-In-1 Uncut format.


I was told there were only two pieces known to exist. This is an unlisted item and no one has ever seen it before. It was also not listed in the new released book by KN Boon, the " A Complete Educational Reference World Paper & Polymer Uncut Banknote".

Now this  piece became the Galeri Sha Banknote collection and another piece seems to be in the collection of Mr.Giesecke in New Zealand. According to Dato' Haji Sharudin, he was told that this RM1 with ZC prefix was the first Malaysia banknote to be printed locally in Shah Alam Malaysia when the factory started its operation in 2003.


Today I am very glad Dato' Haji Sharudin Bin Hj. Yusof, DIMP.,AMP. purposely brought it to my Dickson Niew Collection Corner in Subang Jaya for me to take a good look at it.
I loved the prefix : ZC and its serial numbers: XXX8888. Thank you Dato'.

Malaysia 1970 One Cent Coin Graded MS63RB Pattern Steel Clad
Rarity:UNIQUE.

Malaysia Parliament series 1970 One Cent Copper Coin with total mintage of 2,535,000 pieces and the 20 Cents Copper-Nickel coin with a total of 1,054,00 pieces were minted  by Hamburg Mint, in Germany. Both were considered a key date coin  by local coin collectors.


On 23 Jun 2011,I published a post on this Malaysia Parliament series 1970 One Cent Copper Coin with Wrong Metal Errors.(MALAYSIA COIN RARE COIN 1970 ONE CENT WRONG METAL ERRORS),We found some pieces of these 1970 One Cent Copper were minted on Copper -Clad Steel planchet.There were the Wrong Metal Errors.

Umesh Selvamoney Visited Dickson Niew Collection Corner On 11-06-2012


At 9.44am today,I received a sms from my regular Blog visitor Mr.Umesh Selvamoney, who wanted to know the address and business hours of my Dickson Niew Collection Corner. He is currently working in Malacca and try to visit me today before 8.00pm.
At 4.35pm, I received an other sms from him to double confirmed his trip with a secret mission; he wanted to show me a piece of  Malaysian coin for authentication, a very rare 1976 One Cent coin struck on Copper Planchet,or the Malaysia Transitional Error Coin.

He arrived with his friend at 6.10pm. I was waiting anxiously for him to show his rare cent.

An other rare 1976 One Cent coin struck on Copper Planchet in uncirculated condition was found.
A very nicely toned one cent coin with natural lustre. I double confirmed its metal composition by placing a strong magnet on it, it is a copper planchet.

He found his this very rare coin  in Seremban yesterday, he can't wait for more than a day to find me to confirm the authenticity of his rare collection.

I am excited and happy to know that an other rare 1976 One Cent coin struck on Copper Planchet,or the Malaysia Transitional Error Coin survived in UNC condition.
