Soaked Into Shellac Spirit On 30th October 2015
Checked On 5th November 2015. It Peeled Slightly.
I was suggested by Mr. Alam Tunggal NurPutih to sock the suspicious items with olive oil for a few days. Then he told me to use a brush to clean the items. If the items are forgery, the outer layer will be soften and can be removed easily. The inner part is a skeleton of a cockerel that was made of lead. The outer layer is likely to be coated with fine sand.
Checked On 5th March 2016.

Later, I was briefed again by Mr. Alam Tunggal NurPutih that he found out that the caveat emptors are using the 3 seconds quick dry super glue applied on the skeleton of the cockerel perched with rings that was made of lead then rolled against the dry powder of river mud.

I was offered by the consignor to do the experiment. The suspicious items were delivered  to my Dickson Niew Collection shop.

 Now, the results.....

THAILAND TIN ANIMAL CURRENCY

Thailand Tin Animal Currency

This set of photos were given to me  by Teera Vajira, my Blog visitors who live in Bangkok.

Teera asked: " How can you tell its authenticity!!! I have few animal tin monies, how can I let you check them!!".

I replied," Where did you collected these tin currency, it doesn't look like these animal tin currency are from Malaysia Perak State. There are likely from Thailand because the Dragon Tin Currency is very Chinese (Buddhism) influenced.,the fish and the sting ray resembled the fresh water species."

The tail of the sting ray fish has formed a hole for carrying and wearing.
Thank you Teera Vajira for sharing.

Perak Animal Tin Currency-Rare Standing Dragon.

Rarity:RRRR

I was told by Master Saran Singh, since he started to collect tin currency, he has not seen more then 5 pieces of this Standing Dragon Tin Currency. He considered it as a  rare item.

This Standing Dragon Tin Currency is the collection of  Mr.WY Kong. It stands at the height of 80.89mm, width at 40.77mm and with a weight of 16.66gm.

According to another senior Malay Sultanate coins collector, En Kharul from Kajang, he said the different between the Malay Sultanate dragon and the Chinese dragon is that the Malay Sultanate dragon has a horn on its head.
I am getting more and more exciting to learn about Malay Sultanate coinage.
