Malaysia BNM Souvenir RM2 With "Specimen" Numbers.
During the tenure of Tan Sri Dato' Ahmad Bin Mohd Don as Bank Negara Governor from 1996 to 1998. Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) had issued a very unique souvenir. A RM2 banknote with AA prefix and "specimen" numbers,i.e."0000000".Only 250 sets were issued. It was not announce to the public.
It is a acrylic paper weigh with the RM2 "Specimen Banknotes" encapsulated in between.
A senior collector told me they bought it at RM120 during then and sold to other collectors for RM150 to RM180.

Today, this collectible BNM souvenir RM2 with "specimen" numbered was sold for not less then RM2000 in the current market. A very collectible exonumia item.

Many attempts has been tried by few collectors to break open the acrylic with the intention to "rescue" the specimen RM2 banknotes. If successful, its current market value should be not less then RM8,000.But so far no successful story yet!
