Singapore Coin 1973 20 Cent Lamination Error coin.

Rarity:RRR.

Laminations:

Singapore 1973 20 Cents.
Lamination Errors.Obverse.
(Dickson Niew Collection)

During the preparation of the planchet strip, foreign materials - grease, dirt, oil, slag or gas - may become trapped just below the surface of the metal. Coins struck from this strip later may begin to flake and peel since adhesion is poor in the location of the trapped material.

Singapore 1973 20 Cents.
Lamination Errors.Reverse.
(Dickson Niew Collection)

The Singapore and Malaysia's first series of coins (early dates) are particularly susceptible to lamination, due to the poor mixing qualities of the metals used.

  1. Hi Dickson,
    Nice specimen with lamination.
Some more its a Singapore swordfish.
We really love this Sing animal series.
The best circulation series that came out from the Singapore mint.
Haha, we don't have much luck with Spore coins as far as errors and varieties are concern.
Thanks a lot for sharing ;)
