A very rare Malay States of Kedah and Perlis One Real silver coin issued in 1154 A.H. (1741). A circular silver coin of which numerous die varieties are known.This would suggest that it was re-issued mant times and perhaps over a long period. From its weight it may be deduced that it was intended to be the equivalent of 1 Real, or eighth part of a Spanish Silver Trade Dollar.

In Arabic "Sultan Muhammad Jiwa Khalifatul Rahman." (Sultan Muhammad Jiwa, Ruler of God the Merciful).
Reverse:
In Arabic: "Bebalad Kedah Darul Aman sanat 1154" (State of Kedah the Abode of Peace, year 1154 A.H.= 1741).
