TELEPHONE TOKENS

A Stainles Steel Telephone Token.

Mr.Mahadevan,a serious collector of Singapore Merchant Tokens, also an enthusiast of Malaysia rare and error coins collector, gave me this stainless steel telephone token. He told me that I am sure I will like it because he knew I collect tokens of all kind.

This stainless steel  telephone tokens is almost the size of our Malaysia 10 Cents in diameter,i.e.19.20mm  (10 Cents=19.40mm) but the weight is almost double (5.11gm) compare to our 10 Cents  coin. (2.82gm).

Obverse.
On obverse,it exhibited a logo very similar to our famous national car;Perdua Kancil old logo.

Perdua Kancil old logo.
On reverse, obviously is a sign of typical dialing design of a old table phone.

Reverse.
However,I couldn't trace it's origin birth place as I am not good in Arabic, I need some Arabic expert be kind enough to translate it for me.Thank you in advance.

  1. Hi Dickson,
Aha, sure both bear resemblance to each other.
But prefer the Perodua one because looks fatter, more 'ong' ma, haha.
Jokes aside, yes, this token looks really interesting.
We noticed most of these telephone tokens have quite plain designs unlike this specimen you have here.
Impressed with the design on the reverse esp the dials 0-9 which resemble our old telephones, which could also be an indication that this token belongs to that era.
Thanks a lot for sharing this interesting token, Dickson.
And our sincere thanks to Mr. Mahadevan too :)

  2. Hi Whycollect,
I preferred the 'muscular' deer. The 'ong' deer always ended up on dinner table, whereas my 'muscular' deer will always comes back with Santa Clause during X'mas! Haha!

Huh! Is this token belongs to a Muslim country or a Christian country? Don't be sensitive...........please!
A deer is still a deer!
