Malaysia Bunga Raya Series 1991 10 Cents Coin With Triple Clip Errors.

If the metal is not feed into the punching-cutting machine at a steady speed, the movement of the metal does not keep up with the punching. When this happens, the machine is cutting circle planchets out of an area in the metal that has already been cut. This is a Curved Clip Errors.

With clipped-planchet errors, size matters-and so does the number of clips. On average, a 10 Cents coin with a single clip is worth about RM60/UNC to $80/BU. It would be worth RM90/UNC to RM120/BU with a double clip, RM150/UNC to $180/BU with a triple clip. A coin with a dramatic clips, or with more than three clips, could be worth even more.

  1. Hi Dickson,
Wow, who ate your coin cake until it became like that ar.
Must be a real smart eater, left the date and the main device on the obverse untouched, haha.
    A fine clip specimen indeed.
    Congratulations Dickson :)

  2. Hi whycollect,
I am indeed very thankful to Mr.Phun and family who allowed me to inherit this Triple Clip Error coin from his late father's collection.

Ya,like what you said,I just love it because the metal eater missed the date! Hehe!

  3. Hi Dickson,
How to tell whether this is a Post Mint JoB? Can someone use a round metal stamp and nip off some part of the coin?

  4. Hai Mr Dickson, How do we make sure whether a coin is an original clipped coin or just some post job? Thanks for your info
