Mr. Ahmust, a Kelantanese, a new friend that I just met on last Sunday at flea market at Petaling Street. He is a descendant of Arab. His great great grandfather came to Malaya 3 centuries ago.
A very friendly guy, selling some exonumia items in the back lane. He showed me a piece of Pillar Dollar with a very cute figure of man crafted on the obverse.Ahmust told me,it was crafted by his great grandfather hundred years ago in Kelantan.
On the obverse, the small poor little figure in the Pillar Dollar looked very humble, looking eye to eye at the draped bust of Ferdinand VII. (Ferdinand VII. 14 October 1784 – 29 September 1833 was twice King of Spain.), on reverse is a crown, arms and two pillars. It was minted at Monena provisional de Zacatecas.
This is a 1821 R.G. 8 Reales Spain's Silver Pillar Dollar with 90.3 percents of silver composition. Weight at 27.07gm. Floral Edged.
