EUR-SEREE COLLECTING AUCTION -05-08-2012.
EUR-SEREE COLLECTING AUCTION (http://www.eurseree.com) which was
held on Sunday 5th August 2012 9.30am at Narai Hotel,Bangkok in
Rattanakosin Ballroom.
I arrived on 04-08-2012,Saturday at Bangkok International Airport,the
Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 11.40am.Together with me was Mr.J.F.Young,a numismatist from Kuala Lumpur.We received a warm welcome by Mr.Wong Hon Sum, the President of Asia Numismatic Society (Singapore). He invited us for lunch and visit his house not very far from airport.
We went back to the airport at 4.30pm to received groups of numismatists from Johore and Singapore. Then we proceed toNarai Hotel,Bangkok. After check in to the hotel, we still got an hour to do previewing of the auction items.The previewing hall on the second floor was still packed with potential bidders from all over the world.Some Boers tables still in business. We were introduced to the boss of the auction,Khun (Mr) Vitoon Eurtivong by Mr. Wong Hon Sum.

On Sunday morning,the auction start at 9.30am sharp.Morning session were mainly auction Thailand philately's and numismatics's items.Most of the items that we were interested was on the second session started at 12.30 noon. We moved in to the auction hall after enjoyed the buffet lunch hosted by the organiser.

There were 1777 items to be bidded,among the items were the stamps, coins, banknotes, teapots, paintings, amulets, antiques,porcelains, trading cards,covers,postcards,lottery tickets, arts etc.

The responds were very encouraging and bidded item with highest value was the :
THE EMPEROR GOLD SET
"The Unique Gold Set of 7 - Teo Meng Tong Pao" "1864 H.M. King Rama IV or H.M. King Mongkut 60th Birthday" was realized at 15 millions Bath (RM1,500,000).
Auction ended at 10.30pm in the evening.
My trip to Bangkok ended up by visiting the China Town of Bangkok on Monday (6th August 2012) morning before catch a flight at 6.30pm back to Malaysia.
