Complete Set Of Malaysia 1975 3rd Hockey Word Cup Competition Proof Medallions.

Since on 8-8-2011 I posted an article on my Blog about this three beautiful Malaysia 3rd. World Cup Hockey 1975 medallions, I was trying my very best to capture an image of the gold medallion as promised.
There were made to commemorate Malaysia’s hosting of the prestigious Third Hockey World Cup Competition in Kuala Lumpur at Merdeka Stadium, Malaysia from 1st to 19th March,1975.
This was the first time a Hockey World Cup Competition was hosted at an Asian country. Malaysia was qualified for the semifinals but lost by a solitary goal to West Germany and emerged 4th place in the tournament.
One week before our Malaysia Numismatic Society Auction No.156 held on 30th June 2013, I was very lucky and happy to be offered by a very senior numismatist to inherit his rare collection of this beautiful Malaysia 3rd. World Cup Hockey 1975 Proof Medallions. It was a complete set of Proof Gold,Silver and Copper Medallions, a superb 3-in-1 set in a original velvet box. I was extremely happy when he told me that most likely,this is the only 3-in-1 set in a original velvet box known to exist.
