MNP Coins & Banknotes Auction At sPICE (PISA) Penang On 11-1-2015 (Part 2)
On Sunday (11-1-2014) morning, Mr. William Phang brought us to enjoy a very typical "Penang taste" breakfast at a wet market near to Suntex Complex.

We arrived at sPICE Exhibition Hall at 10.45am. The MNP Coins & Banknotes Auction (Penang) Series 2/2015 Public Viewing commenced at 11.00am sharp.

They were more numismatists from North and South of Malaysia arrived at the counter to register. I received a surprise called from Y.H.Dato' Sharuddin, he said he is also on his way to sPICE.

I realized that they were many new faces, mainly from the north were interested to know more about the  MNP Coins & Banknotes Auction (Penang) Series 2/2015.

They were also many of my Blog, facebook and Dickson Niew Collection shop visitors arrived to attend the auction.

Of course, again they were many "numismatists" came to do authentication and verification on their coins and banknotes collections. Some of them claimed have only two items to check but ended up two plastic bags of coins and a roll of banknotes.
The auction commenced at 2.15pm. The response on the coins were not very encouraging. Out of 50 lots only about 30 % was bidded. Its looked like the Malaya, Straits Settlements and Commemorative coin sets were not popular among the Northern numismatists.

However, the banknotes were receiving a very over helming  response. More then 75% of the Banknote lots was realized with a good price. Especially banknotes with solid and "golden" series numbers.

The auction was ended at 4.15 pm. To me, the shortfall of this auction is it should have more lots. I am very sure the results will be more interesting.
