MALAYSIA 20 CENTS WRONG PLANCHET ERROR

Malaysia Bunga Raya Series 199X 20 Cents Coin Struck On Wrong Planchet
Rarity:RRRR
When a planchet is struck by a pair of dies that do not correspond to the denomination intended for the planchet, a wrong planchet error occurs.A much rarer error is a denomination struck on a foreign planchet. This did occur occasionally when the Mint is doing coins for different customers from different countries.

Design: Scallop Edge. Weight:2.53gm. Diameter: 19mm. Edge: Plain
Sometimes mistakenly classified as a striking error, a coin struck on an incorrect planchet occurs when mismatched planchets are fed into a coin-stamping press. This results in a coin that has been stamped with a design intended for a differently sized coin. The resulting errors are prized by collectors, though they are usually caught during the manufacturing process and destroyed
A wrong planchet most often occurs when a denomination is struck on a planchet of a different denomination.
Scallop Design Plain Edged.
It is very similar to Planchets used for Hong Kong 20 Cents coinage minted in 1975 to 1998. Composition: Nickel Brass.
