Malaysia Split Planchet After Strike Error Coins.

A planchet was ready to split before it was struck but waited until after it was struck before splitting into two pieces.

One side will have a ghost of some design and be heavily striated (Pic.1).The other side will be fully struck with details and showing no striations.

These are usually not as valuable as the Split Planchet Before Strike unless both pieces remain together as a set.

This is caused by an improper alloy mix or air bubbles and/or foreign materials trapped in the metal of the Planchet.
