Looks nice! Notice some greenish contaminants already creeping in. Better do something about it before it start to do wonders on your coins.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Hi Dickson,
ReplyDeleteCoins depicting animals seem to be well received by most collectors.
Nice set of coins you have here.
The fish eagle is so majestic.
Thanks a lot for sharing, Dickson :)
Dear nuchatter,
ReplyDeleteThanks for the hi-light!I knew but just do not know what and how to "do something about it"!
Got tips to share?haha!
Dear whycollect,
ReplyDeleteJust touched down from East Malaysia two hours ago on a working trip.I managed to visit some numismatic dealers in KK.Sabah,Miri, and Sibu! Was in Kuching for few hours, can't visit any of them!Hope to post some of their where about ASAP!
Hi Dickson,
ReplyDeleteWow, thats great.
New place to hunt for new collectibles, haha.
Hope you will get some goodies.
Wishing you a nice working trip, Dickson :)
Recommended to use acetone to remove any PVC residue. Nail polish remover is actually acetone but is being perfumed. Try on cheap coin before those expensive coins.
ReplyDeletecheers!
Dear whycollect,
ReplyDeleteGood news, their selling are not that cheap!haha!
But,good news, you may get some items that are already difficult to find it in West Malaysia!
Dear nuchatter,
ReplyDeleteHow about the greenish contaminants that already creeping in?Will acetone help?
Well, they have to be removed anyway or else they start to devour your coin's metal in due course.
ReplyDeleteLooking at your coin, the PVC residue is still fresh and can be removed easily with a cotton bud carefully without scratching it and bit of acetone before running it with some water later.
Dry them later before your 2x2 or PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) inert plastic without known plasticiser.
Try on a cheaper coin first.
Good luck!
Dear Nuchatter,
ReplyDeleteThank you in advance!
And happy Sunday!
