FORGERY MALAYSIA DOLLAR

Question.

Dear Dickson

Please find in attachment 2 photos of different 1991 RM1 coins.

(Pic.2.). Malaysia.1991.$1.00
Counterfeits Coin.Reverse.
(ST Ngoh Collection)
(Pic.1).Malaysia.1991.$1.00
Counterfeits Coin.Reverse.
(ST Ngoh Collection)

The first Pic.1 shows 2 dots above and below the 199'1' on the reverse.
Note the uniqueness of the lower dot - it is just like the crown of a winding watch!  The obverse also have the same dot at the handle of the kris.
What could have brought about these type of dots?

From ST Ngoh. 17-08-2011.

Answer:
Dear ST Ngoh,
How are you ?
These were pieces of counterfeit Malaysia 1991 $1.00 coin.
Pay attention to the concentric lines from the center of the coin in (Pic.1.)
Those "Dots" were the Die Gouge Errors.
On the coin in (Pic.2),the details of the coin is not sharp and clear.

  2. Anonymous,
Anything may happen. Metal used for original $1.00 coin was Aluminum Bronze and the counterfeits used the recycle Brass.
