I bought this DD coin from Bob Chew not long ago. Bob Chew told me he just collected an Australia penny with Queen Elizabeth effigy with double nose! Out of curiosity, I took a closer looked on the coin and it really exhibited a "doubled" image of her nose and chest.

A doubled die (DD) coin is a coin that was struck from a die that had a partial or full doubled image on it. The doubling comes from mistakes in the die hubbing process, where more than one image is transferred from the hub to the coin die.

  1. Another classic doubled die coin is the 1955 Lincoln Penny.

  2. Hi!
In US,they are many very interesting Doubled Die Variety coins, but I am more concentrate on Malaysia Mint Error coins!
They were equally interesting to collect as mint errors are equally rare and scarce regardless of the origin.
