MALAYSIA COIN: FLIP-OVER DOUBLED STRUCK ERRORS

Malaysia Bunga Raya Series 2009 10 Cents With Flip-Over Double Struck Errors.
Rarity:RRRR
 (Dickson Niew Collection)

Double and Multiple Struck,Double Struck In Collar, Double Struck Out Of Collar, all of the rules apply with exception, one of the strikes must have occurred after the coin flipped over in the coining press.
This type of double strike exhibits an obverse and a reverse strike on both sides and is much more scarce than typical double and multiple strike coins. Also,a Flip-Over Double Struck can occur in or out of collar.

  3. Hi Dickson,
Wow, wonderful to get surprises from you often.
First time seeing a flip-over double strike.
Haha, with a rating of RRRR, suppose tough to find these errors.
    Thanks a lot, Dickson :)

  6. I think now that my reply showing the coin that had been struck 4 times should have been posted in the "Assisted Error Coins" section.

    My apologies,
    Bill Snyder

  9. Hi Dickson,

    Thanks for your warm welcome.

I like the term "Assisted Error Coin". It is much better the the old "of Midnight Manufacture". (I've only a few more, and they are from other countries).

I will try to post a few other error pieces from Malaysia, though I don't presently know how to post images directly into blog messages.

I can be reached at billsnyder2000@gmail.com.

    My best,
    Bill

  10. Can anyone tell me how this coin came to be cancelled, officially, I imagine, by the Mint. Were all coins of this type withdrawn in the early 1990's?
