COMMEMORATIVE COIN STRIKE THROUGH ERRORS

Malaysia 3rd Malaysia Plan Commemorative Coin With Strike Through Errors

Rarity:RRR
The 3rd Malaysia Plan RM1.00 Copper-Nickel coin was released in 1976 with mintage of 1,000,000 pieces. Another 17,300 pieces were minted in Proof condition.Weight at 16.80gm,diameter measured at 26mm and 2.6mm in thickness.

Obverse depicted flags of 13 states and a national flag.Center is the portrait of our late Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak.

Reverse is the national emblem surrounded with the device of "RANCANGAN MALAYSIA KETIGA 1976-1980" and "SATU RINGGIT".

It is not an easy task to find a Malaysia commemorative coin in errors. This coin was minted with Strike Through Errors on both side, the obverse and the reverse.I am pretty sure it was a strike through on a string, likely a parcel string. When I used a 14X magnifying glass,I can clearly see sign of small fibers on the affected area.
This coin was in the collection of a very senior numismatist.
