20th Anniversary Of Bank Negara Malaysia Commemorative Coin With Strike Through Errors (1979)

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Bank Negara Malaysia, a 1Dollar/ Ringgit commemorative coin with total mintage of 300,000 pieces on Copper-Nickel  planchet were issued. Another 8,000 pieces were issued in Proof condition.There were minted by Birmingham Mint of UK.

On obverse, it depicted the building of Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) and the Kijang logo. On reverse is  the $1 denomination in the center with "RINGGIT" at the bottom of the $1 sign.Then it was surrounded with "BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA" from 8 o'clock to 4 o'clock clockwise position and "DUA PULUH TAHUN" at 8 o'clock to 4 o'clock anti-clockwise position.

This is another  Malaysia one dollar commemorative coin with Strike Through Error. It struck through the string with traces of  struck through fibres still visible.
Strike Through Error occurs when a foreign object lies on top of the planchet and leaves an impression of itself when struck into the coin. The objects can be grease, string, cloth, hair, plastic, bandaid, staples, etc.
In the case, it was a string.
