Multiple clips are possible . Common wisdom has it that the greater the number of clips on Malaysia coin the scarcer it is. To verify this and to give the you an idea to the relative scarcity between types, to date, the “double curved clip” has proven to be about five times scarcer than its “single curved clip cousin.”. And to come across a "triple curved clips" Malaysian coin, I believed that it can be twenty times scarcer than its “single curved clip cousin.”.

I have heard rumors of their existence, so my search continues! Although possible, quad clips and overlapping clips are extremely rare. As such, the discovery of one on this quest would be a very major coup.

With clipped-planchet errors, size matters and so does the number of clips. On average, a Malaysia Bunga Raya Series 50 sen coin in uncirculated condition with a single curved clip is worth about RM180 to RM200. It would be worth RM450 to RM600 with a double curved clips coin.

A coin with particularly dramatic clips, or with a triple curved clips error or with more than three curved clips error, it could be worth even more. Conversely, a coin with relatively small clips like rim clipped, could be worth substantially less.

I was lucky and successfully bidded this Lot No:250 Malaysia 50 Cents 1992 Error-multiple clipped Grade: UNC Reserve Price: RM600 on our recent MNS Auction No.162 which was held at Kuantan, Pahang with a realized price of RM600.

The prominent curved clips on the reverse of this 1992 50 sen coin is at 7 o'clock to 8 o'clock positions, and less so is at 4 o'clock to 5 o'clock and an other less prominent curved clip on this coin is at 9 o'clock to 10 o'clock positions. This lettered edge 50 sen error coin is with a 30% Off Center Strike Error and it is in Choice Uncirculated condition.
