This Malaysia Bunga Raya series 2006,10 Cents coin is a Multiple Die Crack Error Coin.Die Crack occurred both on obverse and reverse of the coin.

The Die Crack Errors on this Malaysia Bunga Raya series 10 Cents coins always occur at 4 o'clock position and 10 o'clock position on the obverse,it is due to the design of the congkak where both end of the congkak design are too near to the rim,any slightest increase pressure applied above the permitted tonnage during the strike, likely will cause the die to crack.

  2. Hi Dickson,
    Nice minor errors.
We especially like those with the die cracks on the congkak.
Haha, they look like those Straits Settlements spiked heads.
    Very distinct.
Thanks a lot for sharing, Dickson :)

  5. Dear whycollect,
I will try to collect a complete set of this 10 Cents with similar Die Crack errors from year 1989 to curent date!Big task but enjoy the challenge!
What happen in China ebay is nothing new anymore!Enough of warning has been given!

Just think about it,20 years later, those counterfeit silver dollars may have been well accepted as varieties by the new collectors!

  7. Hi Dickson,
First of all, thanks for all the things that you've done to guide us.
Ya, maybe a little pressure for you as a lot of amateur collectors like us, depankanta, mnfaj, and many others are banking on you to come out with some form of useful guide on error coins, haha.
What to do, you're our sifu ma, hahaha.
Frankly, just like planting bonsai, when we first started in the mid 80s, no one was willing to come out to guide us. And we thought we could buy lots of books to learn up the hobby.
    No way.
Then a sifu who was also a good friend came along, and he gave us some good yet very simple tips which were never mentioned in the books about bonsai planting.
Since then, these plants with many planted from seedlings even before our kids were born are now still growing healthily at home.
And some just a couple inches tall after more than 20 years old.
These plants wouldn't have been with us if not because of this helpful sifu.
We are using this analogy to explain exactly why we need people like you to keep us on the right track and at the same time guide us to grow this hobby together.
Hehe, anxiously waiting for a complete list of the varieties.
And our sincere thanks to you again, Dickson :)
