MULTIPLE STRIKES AND PARTIAL INDENT STRIKING ERROR COINS.
Malaysia Bunga Raya 1 Cent 2004 Multiples and Partial Indent Striking Error Coin.

This occurs when the coin has an additional image on one side from being struck again, off center and brockaged by a blank planchet.
A 2004 1 Cent coin which was properly/normally struck on the first strike, but failed to fully eject from the coining chamber, continue to bounce around inside the chamber, landed again partially onto the collar die, received an additional off-center struck. You now have a "first strike on-center, additional strikes off-center" error 2004 1 Cent coin.
But what happens was, this Doubled Off-Center Error 2004 1 Cent coin failed to fully eject from the coining chamber. It continued to bounce around inside the chamber, landed again partially onto the collar die, received additional off-center struck with a blank planchet "sitting" on it before it eventually fully ejected from the coining chamber. You now have a Multiple Strike Error coin with Doubled Off-Center Strikes Errors and Partial Indent Strike Error coin.

ReplyDeleteThe obverse looks very impressive esp the main device even when appearing in multiples is so well struck in the middle of the coin, making it looks like those ancient Greek coins which are mostly not perfectly struck.
Equally amazing is the reverse, with a partial indent and double off-center.
By the way, what's the rarity rating for this?
